Atheism versus Humility... A trade-off?

Humility collects the soul into a single point by the power of silence. A truly humble man has no desire to be known or admired by others, but wishes to plunge from himself into himself, to become nothing, as if he had never been born. When he is completely hidden to himself in himself, he is completely with God.
Isaac of Nineveh (6th Century)

So how does this answer your question? Hmmm. You ask about humility and atheism, Isaac speaks about humility and God (theism).

If atheism or theism is a claim, humility finds no place. If a lady or gent claims that s/he is an atheist or a great devotee of God, then humility is lost. If humility (pretty much like what Isaac has to say) exists (not the same as brought into existence) then one doesn't know whether one is an atheist or not, right? Or am I mistaken?

Thanks Maheshc. I wasn't sure where to put the "," (comma) in your comment!! :-)
"Sure", what? Sorry, I am really not good with compact comments (as you might have noticed). Sure I am mistaken or sure I have gotten to some point or ... sure I am confused here!
