Rain
I seem to be having lesser interest in politics than the average person. I have read a few political blogs over the past few weeks. After a point of time, all of them seem to be saying the same thing. A few days back, I left a comment on a fellow blogger's 'political' post. The long rigmarole seemed pretentious even to me. That was when I realised I cannot write about politics. I seem to be completely indifferent to it. [or is it cynicism?] I blog less than the average blogger because very few things interest me enough to write about. The easier explanation would be that I am lazy and writing seems to be a strenuous exercise when one is merely interested in the dance and interplay of words.
I have no lofty dreams to build a better society either. Is this because I have not been exposed to the grotesque aspects of life? War seems far away from where I live. The only war I see here is in the long queues before the water-lorries. I also see a gathering of musicians, singing the Amritavarshini, praying for rain - a war cry of a different kind - human voices raised together in unison.
It is raining and I really do not care who wins the elections.

Hiii Meera...
Thanks for the hearty news that it is raining in Chennai..each time I hear it I just can't but issue a broad smile to myself! Even if it means the cancellation of a match India was poised to win-to hell with it.
You stole those words from my mouth :)
The Jack ;)
