Thoda Thoda Malardhadhenna

A R Rahman, Ilayaraaja, Yuvan, Jatin Lalit, Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Songs come. Songs go. I hardly notice. I have become strangely immune to mellifluous voices. My mind is caught up with blue lines of code. And in wafts one number, that takes me by surprise. Like the sound of soft drizzling early in the morning that makes me aware of my cheek on the pillow, the curve of my knee, palms tucked deep inside the blanket and eyelids slowly letting in the light that plays hide and seek through the curtains revealing glistening grey skies. A slow awakening... I sit back, palms supporting my head. Behind my closed eyes, I can see lush meadows, smell the damp earth and feel the pattern carelessly entwined fingers trace.
I am relishing this moment of consciousness. I am grateful for the music.

lovely meera! - i am able to feel what u wrote even as i am looking at the full stop that jus completed the sentence. but, i do not know which of this is true: is it your reputation of being capable of creating imageries or is it really because your are doing it everytime u write...?

++I am grateful for the music.++

This song will go down as one of the all time bests of ARR. Curious to know whether u liked this bcoz of the BITS connection. (I guess Anu Hassan was from BITS).

Dear Kaps - BITS connections (esp one as remote as this) usually don't dictate my musical inclinations :-)

In this case, the context in which I listened to the song is more significant than the song in question itself. Had I listened to the song any other time (as I have many times) I wonder if it would have affected me enough to write about. I suppose, it caught my harried brain by surprise that afty! :)
