That's All.

Last evening, while we sat on the parapet wall over the gleaming ocean, I watched the sunset being coloured by your humming that underscored the imperceptible silence. And when we spoke, we held words between us, like only strangers can, impersonally, carefully measuring each syllable, shaping into a caricatured life-story.

An ode to someone, to oneself, to a friend, to a sudden dichotomy, to confrontation and to acceptance. In short, a surrender to the flow of words.

I notice that some of your recent efforts are Ayn Rand-ish in that while they appear sophisticated and abstract as such, there is very little conveyed and the words are used more in a Humphrey Applebey-ish manner(not to convey but to confuse).Again, this is just an observation and not meant as criticism.I guess you are trying to experiment a bit to come up with your own style. Is it so?

Dear Mystic,

Writing, in my case, is almost always personal. The reader is always welcome to make his own interpretation. We are conditioned to see only what we want to see... As for style, I am not searching for anything consciously. As I have said before, I am merely surrendering to the flow of words and thoughts. Lets see where this takes me.

Dear Sagnik,
Thank you. Glad you were able to relate to it...

Glad that you took my comment in the right spirit.Maybe I dont get it, as you say.Cause everyone else seems to appreciate and understand what you want to convey. So lets leave it at that.

And let me join the others in wishing you a happy b'day.I am a gemini myself btw.

Dear Arun, Krish & Anon,
Thank you for your wishes.

Dear Rohan,
Glad you like the words.

Dear Mystic,

Thank you and wish u the same!

++Maybe I dont get it, as you say++

I never said this!! :-)

Just wanted to clarify that, in my case, "meaning" is not consciously lent to words (other than personal inspirations of course)... The words are coloured by the interpretations or lack thereof of the readers!

Meera.

I've been reading you for ages now...

Only strangers can? Doesnt it happen when you are much too familiar with each other that it scares you and you wish to flee because the other person understands your unsaid words and unthought thoughts?

Ah! Am getting all sentimental again!

Dear Kaaju Katli,

Thank you. Loved your blog :-)

Dear Poornima,

While I agree with the possibility, I wonder if complete communication would make one run away! This particular context, in any case, is complete lack of implicit communication... :-)

... and we speak of thing that matter
with words that must be said
can analysis be worthwhile
is the theatre really dead

and we sit and drink our coffee
cast in our indifference
like shells upoon the shore
you can hear the ocean roar
in the dangling conversation
and the superficial sigh
the borders of our lives ...

Those lines from Simon is what I was reminded of by your lines. Thanks.
